Updates

What's new in Bilbx

Bilbx is actively built and maintained. Here's everything that's shipped, what's coming, and what happens to your receipts if you ever stop paying.

Last updated August 2026version 1.2.0iOS, Android and the web

Built for vaults that keep growing

Latest

Version 1.2.0iOS, Android, Web

A rebuild of how Bilbx stores and loads your receipts. Large collections now open straight away, search reaches inside receipts to individual items, and the web portal was rewritten to match.

New
  • Search inside your receipts — look for a specific item, not just the shop that sold it
  • The web portal handles large collections properly, with everything reachable from the browser
Improved
  • Large collections open instantly, however many receipts you have — Bilbx now loads what's on screen instead of everything you own
  • Receipts sort themselves into the right categories instead of landing in Other
  • Scanning a receipt no longer slows down as your collection grows
  • Your receipts stay readable offline, and sync only what actually changed
Fixed
  • Dates in the tax export now match your local timezone, so receipts land in the right financial year
  • Reminders no longer appear for receipts you've deleted
  • Signing out now fully clears your receipts from the browser
  • Moving between screens in the portal always shows current data

Sharper on Android

Version 1.1.2iOS, Android

Saving receipt images to your phone works properly across older Android versions, and the app finally introduces itself properly in the stores.

Improved
  • Bilbx is easier to find in the App Store and on Google Play
Fixed
  • Saving a receipt image to your gallery now works on Android 7 through 10

Tax Lab, properly

Version 1.1.0iOS, Android, Web

Tax Lab stopped being a preview and became something you can actually lodge from — decide what counts once, then include a whole period in a single tap.

New
  • Include every receipt in a financial year at once, instead of ticking them one at a time
  • Export your tax-flagged receipts as a CSV your accountant can read
Improved
  • Marking a receipt as work-related and reviewing it are now separate steps, so changing your mind about one no longer resets the other
  • Tax Lab totals update as you go, rather than after a refresh
Fixed
  • Editing a receipt no longer clears details that had already been read from the image

First public release

Version 1.0.2iOS, Android

Bilbx arrives on the App Store and Google Play — scan a receipt, keep it forever, and find it again when you need it.

New
  • Scan any receipt with your camera and have the shop, date and total read off it automatically
  • Keep every receipt in one place, synced across your devices
  • Track return windows and warranty periods, with a reminder before they run out
  • An early version of Tax Lab for flagging work-related purchases

What we're working on

No dates — these ship when they're genuinely ready, not when a roadmap says so.

Search that reaches further
Finding a single item across years of receipts, not just the shop that sold it.
More guides in Learn
Warranties, returns and record-keeping — the questions people actually ask, answered against what the ACCC and ATO publish.
Subscribing on the web
Managing your plan from the browser, without going through an app store.

Your receipts are yours

The ATO expects you to keep records for five years. That's a long time to trust an app, so here's where we stand.

  • Cancelling never locks your vault

If you cancel or lapse, every receipt you've already saved stays readable. A free plan limits what you can add — never what you already have.

  • Your receipt images are yours

Save any receipt image straight to your phone, whenever you want it — the original photo, not a copy we hold onto.

  • An Australian business

Bilbx is built and run by Fairgo Logistics in Perth, Western Australia — for Australian tax rules and Australian consumer law.
