Should this have lasted longer? A warranty check
There is no minimum warranty period in Australia and no published table of how long things should last — the ACCC says plainly that there are “no set rules” for it. What the regulators do publish is a set of worked examples: a laptop at 18 months, two washing machines at five years, two identical dryers used differently.
This finds the examples closest to your situation and shows what the guidance concluded about them. It will not tell you whether you have a claim — nothing outside a tribunal can — but it will tell you which published comparison you are arguing from, which is the part that is otherwise buried in a twelve-page PDF.
